
School owner, translator, English teacher and course developer, Konrad Dejko has been using his 33-year-old teaching experience to help to improve efficacious communication. Involved in developing Pearson’s Speakout and Roadmap series, he has been designing teaching solutions geared towards getting messages across. Active as a translator and language editor, he loves sharing ideas and facilitating business at Polish events and internationally.
The talk showcases techniques and exercises that may be employed by educators to help their students succeed in preparing for language exams. Some performance boosting exercises draw on techniques used by Maori navigators to pierce through mental fog, Australian Aboriginal skills employed to prevent concentration drift, and medieval monks devising mnemonic solutions to quickly learn Latin. All of these may easily boost everyday communication skills and improve students’ confidence.
