In higher education, many classes are conducted in English, especially those within the realm of literature. Yet despite having adequate English levels, students can frequently become overwhelmed by the amount of terminology, theory, texts, and even jargon connected to specific literary topics. Thus, the following lecture will present select methods and approaches that can be utilized in effectively teaching such classes in English. On the basis of the lecture, attendees can find out how they can plan such classes, what methods and approaches can be effective in teaching literature in English, and what tools and materials (including digital and print) can support clear instruction and encourage student participation. The lecture will include specific examples and materials based on the educational experiences of dr Elżbieta Niewiadoma, who has extensive experience in teaching Anglosphere literary classes in higher education.
