I have worked in the field of ELT since 1989, where I took my first steps teaching on summer schools in the UK. I moved to Greece in 1991 and taught English in private language schools, as well as Academic English, English Literature and Art History on foundation courses. Since 2000, I have been working as a writer, editor and teacher trainer for Burlington Books Greece, where I am currently Editorial Manager. I hold a BA in Drama and English and an MA in English Literature. My main ELT interests are language change, teaching teens, and drama in the classroom, but above all materials writing with real teachers and real classroom needs in mind.
This session confronts some common myths about ADHD, based on what the science really says. I’ll examine how ADHD affects executive functions such as attention, working memory and emotional regulation and together we'll consider what this means in the classroom. More importantly, participants will leave with practical strategies to help students thrive! I hope you'll join me to discuss your experiences so that together we can unlock ADHD.
