My name is Anna Witańska. I coordinate the English programme, based on the National Curriculum, in a bilingual primary school called Autorska Szkoła Podstawowa Saltando. I have been working as an educator and deputy head for two decades, mostly in international settings. I enjoy being in the classroom and working with those who want to learn. I am an author of a Polish storybook and an English workbook. A vegan activist, after hours - always a crazy chicken lady.
In the chaotic world of interactive whiteboards, learning platforms, and Kahoots anyone can feel overhelmed. It has become exponentially harder for both teachers and students to keep their focus on what matters. Is there a way out? Through a nostalgic come-back to analogue methods, such as spelling lists and spelling tests, I would like to show how high achievers are challenged and thrive, while strugglers catch up and develop self-confidence. Spelling can be a game changer for building a sense of achievement and success, as well as a solid foundation for enhancing writing and reading skills.
