Biogram

I am an English Philology graduate (Jagiellonian University). I completed Postgraduate Studies at the UNESCO Chamber for Conference Interpreters and Translators, also in Kraków. I have been teaching in primary schools, mostly international, currently at a Polish (bilingual) school. Most of that time I have been the head of primary, mentoring teachers, creating the curriculum and implementing innovation. At present I am responsible for the English Programme taught in Saltando. Our mission is to release confident users of English. We have recently commenced a collaboration with the British Council (Young Learners Exams). I am an environmentalist and a vegan.

Analogue reading in class - away from the screen, feeding on words

Reading is becoming a skill that students struggle with. In the world of educational platforms, AI tools and Kahoots, it is increasingly harder for learners to focus without being constantly entertained. I would like to share my experience of teaching reading in class, working with a reading scheme and creating worksheets adjusted to students' needs. Reading, combined with a certain degree of routine, can become a lesson where distractions are minimised and, with time, a true immersion in the language happens.
